Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to support educators and students within our educational environment. This role involves working closely with children, including those with special needs, to foster a positive learning experience. The ideal candidate will have a genuine interest in child development and possess strong communication skills to effectively engage with pupils, teachers, and parents. Previous experience working with individuals with autism or disabilities is highly desirable. Duties
- Assist teachers in delivering lesson plans and classroom activities tailored to individual student needs
- Support children with special educational requirements, including those with autism and other disabilities
- Provide one-on-one assistance to pupils, particularly those requiring additional support such as toddlers or children with behavioural challenges
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages participation and confidence among all students
- Help manage behaviour and maintain a safe, organised classroom setting
- Support the implementation of personalised learning programmes and behavioural strategies
- Communicate effectively with children, teachers, and parents regarding student progress and needs
- Assist in preparing learning materials and resources as required
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in educational or care settings is preferred
- Experience working specifically with individuals with autism or disabilities is advantageous
- Knowledge of special education practices and strategies for working with children who have additional needs is desirable
- Experience caring for toddlers or young children will be considered a plus
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration within the team and engagement with pupils and their families
