This role will give you hands-on experience working within a professional accountancy practice while studying towards a recognised qualification (ATT) in due course . You will gain valuable skills, receive full training and support, and develop a rewarding career in tax.
About the Role
Working alongside our experienced tax team, you will assist with a wide range of tax work.
Your responsibilities will include:
Preparing basic tax returns.
Assisting with sections on more complicated tax returns and submissions.
Preparing Return of Income Tax on Company Payment forms.
Preparing forms P11D Expenses and Benefits
Performing other tasks delegated by managers such as arranging the return of client records, contacting HMRC in respect of routine enquiries and contributing to regular firm socials and charity events.
Contacting clients to chase tax returns and other correspondence via email, client portal and telephone, referring any queries to relevant colleague.
To sit professional exams as agreed if appropriate.
Providing administrative support to the wider department.
About You
We are looking for an enthusiastic individual who is eager to learn and develop a career in tax.
You will ideally have:
A strong ability to organise and prioritise tasks
A strong ability to communicate basic principles in writing, and verbally.
A strong desire to gain a basic tax understanding.
3 A levels or equivalent predicted B and above
Maths and English GCSE A-C
Strong attention to detail.
Excellent organisational skills.
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office
The ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Previous office experience is not essential as full training will be provided.
