Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Senior Care Assistant to join our vibrant care home team. In this vital role, you will provide high-quality, person-centered care to our residents, supporting their physical, emotional, and social well-being. Your leadership skills will be essential in supervising junior staff, ensuring care plans are followed accurately, and maintaining a warm, respectful environment. Duties
- Deliver personalized care to residents, assisting with daily activities such as bathing, dressing, and mobility to promote independence and dignity
- Supervise and mentor junior care staff, providing guidance and support to ensure consistent, high standards of care
- Implement and review individual care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, and external professionals to coordinate care and address any concerns promptly
- Maintain accurate documentation of care activities, incidents, and resident progress using IT systems
- Support residents’ social engagement by organizing activities that promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being
Qualifications
- Proven experience working in a care home setting or senior care environment- NVQ level 3
- Supervising or leadership experience within a healthcare or social care context
- Strong communication skills with the ability to connect empathetically with residents and team members
- Knowledge of care plans, safeguarding procedures, and relevant health & safety regulations
- Competency in using IT systems for documentation and reporting purposes
- A caring attitude combined with the ability to lead by example in delivering exceptional resident care
