Nursery Manager
Location: Thurnby, Leicester
Contract: Fixed-term maternity cover, with potential for a permanent role within the group
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Shifts between 7:30am and 6:00pm
Salary: Up to £44,000 per annum + annual salary reviews and bonus opportunities

St George’s Nursery Group has been providing high-quality childcare across the East Midlands for over 30 years and was recognised as one of the Top 20 Nursery Groups in 2024.
We’re looking for an experienced and passionate Nursery Manager to lead our Bobblewood Nursery in Thurnby.
Bobblewood offers a warm, home-from-home environment in a beautiful character building, with a large garden, woodland learning areas and its own log cabin. Our approach focuses on play, creativity and giving children meaningful opportunities to explore and learn.
Your Role
You will:
- Lead the day-to-day running of the nursery
- Inspire, support and develop your team
- Maintain high standards of safeguarding, care and EYFS practice
- Build strong relationships with children, families and colleagues
- Support nursery occupancy and growth
- Create a positive environment where children and staff thrive
What We’re Looking For:
- Full and relevant Level 3 Early Years qualification or above
- At least two years’ early years or other suitable experience
- Experience leading and motivating a nursery team
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS, safeguarding and regulatory requirements
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
- A positive, professional and family-focused approach
You’ll join a supportive team with structured induction, mentoring, in-house training and ongoing career development. Many of our colleagues have been with St George’s for over 15 years.
Although initially a maternity-cover role, with several nurseries across the group there may be opportunities to move into a permanent Nursery Manager position in the future.
