Job Overview
We are seeking both trainee and skilled and detail-oriented Glass Fitters to join our specialist installation team. The successful candidates will be responsible for installing, repairing, and replacing glass in a variety of settings both in Domestic homes and on Construction projects, ensuring safety, precision, and quality in every project. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in construction detail or specialised glazing work to develop their expertise further within a dynamic environment. Applicants must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team, adhering to health and safety standards at all times.
Responsibilities
- Install glass in Bespoke Bathroom/Kitchen and around the home enviroment, to include screens and doors etc such as specialised fixtures with precision and care.
- Remove old or damaged glass safely prior to installation.
- Ensure all fittings are secure and compliant with relevant building regulations.
- Work closely with other trades such as carpenters, masons, or electricians to coordinate installation processes.
- Maintain a clean and organised workspace, adhering to health and safety protocols throughout all tasks.
- Read and interpret schematics, drawings, or technical instructions to ensure correct installation procedures.
- Carry out installation or repair processes promptly and effectively.
Skills
- Proven experience in Glass and Mirror installation is highly desirable.
- Proficiency with hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers) and power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
- Knowledge of installation techniques specific to glass fitting and installation.
- Ability to read schematics and technical drawings accurately.
- Strong understanding of construction safety standards and protocols.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
- Good communication skills for collaborating with team members and clients.
- Physical fitness to handle lifting heavy materials and work at heights when necessary.
- A full clean Driving License is required, and the ability to drive a large Transit size van is required.
