Nursery Assistant – Alexander House Nursery
About the Position
Alexander House Nursery is seeking a warm, dependable, and motivated Nursery Assistant to join our welcoming teams in Wimbledon (Quicks Road). In this role, you will help provide a safe, engaging, and supportive space where children feel confident to explore, learn, and develop.
Key Duties
- Assist in planning and delivering fun, developmentally appropriate activities that support children’s learning.
- Observe children’s progress, maintain accurate records, and communicate updates with parents and carers.
- Work collaboratively with families and colleagues to meet each child’s individual needs.
- Follow all nursery policies and procedures, including safeguarding, confidentiality, and health and safety standards.
- Support everyday routines such as preparing snacks, tidying and maintaining the environment, and providing attentive care.
- Take part in training sessions, staff meetings, and professional development opportunities.
- Help create an inclusive, welcoming, and high-quality setting for every child.
About You
- Kind, patient, and enthusiastic about working with young children.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Minimum of 1 year’s experience in a nursery or childcare environment (essential).
- Enhanced DBS certificate or willingness to obtain one before starting.
- Basic knowledge of food hygiene and health and safety practices (training available).

Working Hours & Salary
- Flexibility to work Monday to Friday between 7:30/8am and 6:00pm
- 4-day working week
- £26,436.80 per annum (Based on 40 Hours per week)
