Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Porter to join our dynamic hospitality team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment, supporting chefs and kitchen staff in delivering exceptional service. The ideal candidate will be proactive, reliable, and enthusiastic about working within a fast-paced culinary setting. Previous experience in food preparation or hospitality is advantageous but not mandatory, as training will be provided. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills within the food and beverage industry.
Duties
- Washing, cleaning, and sanitising dishes, utensils, pots, pans, and kitchen equipment to ensure hygiene standards are met
- Assisting with basic food preparation tasks under supervision
- Supporting the kitchen team in organising storage areas and stock rotation
- Maintaining cleanliness of work surfaces, floors, and general kitchen areas throughout shifts
- Assisting with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with health and safety regulations
- Supporting the delivery of excellent customer service by ensuring the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently
- Adhering to all health and safety guidelines to maintain a safe working environment
Skills
- Basic understanding of food preparation and kitchen operations
- Experience in cooking or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential
- Previous hospitality or hotel experience is advantageous
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow instructions diligently
- Good organisational skills with attention to cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Willingness to learn new skills related to culinary support roles
- Flexibility to work shifts as required, including evenings or weekends if necessary
