Job description Job title: Playworker (Out of School Club- childcare)
Contract: Permanent with yearly contract renewals
Hours of work: 20 hours per week
Reports to: Team manager
Range f pay: £2200.00 per month.
This is a 44 week contract paid pro rata. You will work 39 weeks term time and 5 weeks holiday club throughout the year with 11 weeks holiday when schools are closed.
Job summary
Hours of work will be – After school club 2.15pm until 5.45pm (Monday-Thursday), 12pm - 545pm (Friday)
20 hours Holiday club 5 weeks per year.
Key responsibilities
To assist in the provision of children’s play based activities.
To facilitate the positive integration of children and young people with disabilities, behavioural difficulties and/or special needs within the out of school club provision.
To ensure the wellbeing and safety of the children.
To build and maintain strong partnership working with parents to enable children’s needs to be met.
Ensure the care and maintenance of equipment and materials.
To undertake any other reasonable and relevant tasks as identified by the manager as well as Covid related tasks. Person specification Qualification /certificates
Knowledge of child protection, first aid and play is an advantage but not essential.
Skills & Knowledge
- Interest in working with children in a play/childcare setting.
- Childcare qualifications are essential.
Excellent communicator and an outgoing personality.
Good time management and organisational skills.
Ability to work effectively within a team.
Willingness to commit to continuous learning through training opportunities.
Good sense of humour
