Job purpose:
As Head of Marketing, you will lead the marketing strategy for Lagardère Travel Retail UK & Ireland, supporting commercial growth, strengthening our brands and enhancing customer engagement across our growing retail portfolio.
This is a strategic and hands-on leadership role, ideal for an experienced Marketing Manager or Senior Marketing professional ready to take the next step into a Head of Marketing position, or an established Head of Marketing looking for a new challenge.
You will work closely with the UK Executive Team, Commercial, Buying, Operations and Finance, as well as our global marketing teams in Paris, to ensure marketing is closely aligned to business objectives and delivers measurable commercial impact.
You will also lead and develop a growing marketing team, creating a high-performing, collaborative function that can support the continued growth of the business.

Key Responsibilities:
Marketing Strategy & Commercial Growth
- Develop and deliver the UK & Ireland marketing strategy, aligned with wider commercial and business objectives
- Set marketing priorities, objectives and KPIs, measuring performance and return on investment
- Identify opportunities across consumer, competitor and market trends to support business growth
- Act as a marketing partner to the Commercial Director and Executive Team, supporting business development, tenders and contract renewals
- Work closely with Commercial, Buying, Operations and Finance to support revenue growth, customer acquisition and profitability
- Collaborate with global teams in Paris to leverage international best practice and campaigns, adapting them for the UK & Ireland market
Brand & Customer Marketing
- Lead integrated marketing across Retail, Duty Free and Foodservice
- Strengthen and evolve the Lagardère Travel Retail brand across the UK & Ireland portfolio
- Ensure customer insight and data inform marketing strategy and decision-making
- Oversee digital marketing, CRM, content, social media and website activity
- Lead major marketing initiatives including new store openings, refurbishments, brand activations and seasonal campaigns
- Ensure consistent and high-quality brand execution across customer touchpoints
Communications & External Relations
- Lead corporate communications across the UK & Ireland business
- Oversee corporate website and LinkedIn activity
- Manage media relations, press releases and external communications
- Support senior leadership with key business announcements and executive communications
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, manage and develop the UK marketing team, currently comprising a Marketing Manager and Marketing Executive
- Set clear objectives, KPIs and development plans for direct reports
- Coach and mentor the team, creating a high-performing and collaborative culture
- Identify future resource and capability requirements as the business grows
- Build strong cross-functional relationships and encourage a commercial, customer-focused approach to marketing
Budget & Performance
- Own and manage the annual marketing budget, ensuring investment delivers strong commercial and brand return
- Manage agency and supplier relationships, ensuring clear objectives and performance standards
- Monitor campaign and marketing performance against agreed KPIs
- Establish effective governance and processes to ensure quality, consistency and compliance
Skills & Experience
- Significant marketing experience, ideally within retail, travel retail, hospitality or another customer-focused environment
- Experience developing and delivering marketing strategies that support commercial growth
- Proven experience managing and developing a marketing team – people management experience is essential
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to turn customer insight and market trends into opportunities
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to influence senior leaders and external partners
- Experience managing marketing budgets and agency/supplier relationships
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to measure marketing performance and ROI
- Experience supporting business development, tenders, new openings or growth initiatives
- A strategic and hands-on approach, with the ability to balance long-term planning with day-to-day delivery
