Learner Attendance & Engagement Coordinator
Location: Croydon, London – office-based
Salary: £26,000 per annum
Hours: 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday

London Learning Consortium and DV8 are seeking an experienced, confident and highly organised Centre Administrator to support the effective day-to-day operation of our busy post-16 education provision in Croydon.
As a Grade 2 education and training provider delivering across London and the Southeast, we specialise in personalised, industry-led learning for young people, particularly those who benefit from creative, practical and inclusive education.
This is a varied and rewarding office-based role supporting learners, staff, parents, carers and visitors. Working closely with the Centre Manager and Vice Principal, you will act as a central point of contact and help ensure that attendance, learner records, centre administration and communication are managed accurately and professionally.
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive professional with a minimum of two years' experience working in an educational setting. The successful candidate will understand the importance of learner attendance and engagement and be committed to supporting positive learner outcomes
What You’ll Be Doing Attendance and Learner Engagement
- Promote high expectations of learner attendance and punctuality.
- Monitor daily attendance and identify absences requiring intervention.
- Contact learners and parents or carers regarding non-attendance.
- Follow up non-attenders and help address barriers affecting attendance.
- Support attendance action plans involving tutors, learners and parents or carers.
- Maintain accurate records of attendance communications and interventions on Arbor.
- Share relevant information promptly with teaching and learner-support teams.
- Contribute ideas and activities that encourage improved attendance and engagement.
Centre Administration
- Provide efficient administrative support to the Centre Manager, Vice Principal and wider delivery team.
- Act as a professional and welcoming first point of contact for learners, staff, parents, carers, visitors and external partners.
- Maintain accurate learner information and supporting documentation.
- Assist with administrative processes relating to enrolment, learner support and programme delivery.
- Help develop and maintain effective administrative systems and procedures.
- Support preparations for internal compliance reviews, audits, inspections and visits from external bodies.
- Handle personal and sensitive information in accordance with confidentiality and data-protection requirements.
Learner Records and Systems
- Support the accurate administration of learner records using Arbor, PICS and other organisational systems.
- Record communications, interventions and relevant learner information accurately and promptly.
- Support the administration and distribution of free meals and student bursary allocations.
- Liaise with learners, parents, carers, teaching teams and relevant external stakeholders.
- Provide administrative support relating to partners working with LLC where required.
Exams and Centre Support
- Assist the Exams Officer with the administration and delivery of examinations.
- Help ensure examinations are conducted in accordance with JCQ and awarding-body requirements.
- Support enrolment activity, open days, parent events, careers events, learner events and employer-engagement activities.
- Assist the Centre Manager with the safe and effective day-to-day operation of the premises.
- Undertake other reasonable administrative duties consistent with the role and the needs of the organisation.
What We’re Looking For
You should have:
- Qualifications to at least Level 3 or equivalent.
- English and maths qualifications.
- Strong administrative, organisational and IT skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience maintaining accurate records and handling confidential information.
- Confidence communicating with young people, parents, carers, staff and external professionals.
- The ability to organise competing priorities and complete work accurately within deadlines.
- A practical and proactive approach to problem-solving.
- The ability to work independently while contributing positively to a wider team.
- A calm, professional and empathetic approach to challenging or sensitive situations.
- The willingness to undertake relevant training and continuing professional development.
- The ability to work full-time, Monday to Friday, from our Croydon centre.
Experience of working with young people is strongly preferred.
The following would be advantageous:
- Experience within post-16 education, further education or a comparable learner-facing environment.
- Experience using Arbor, PICS or another learner-management system.
- Experience of attendance monitoring and intervention.
- Knowledge of support agencies and services available to young people in London.
- First Aid or safeguarding training.
- Experience supporting examination administration or working to JCQ requirements.
