About the Role
We are looking for a reliable, friendly and supportive Personal Care Assistant to provide person-centred support to a gentleman with an acquired brain injury. This rewarding role will involve assisting him to maintain his independence, access activities in the community and enjoy day-to-day life.
The successful candidate will build a positive and supportive working relationship while providing practical assistance and companionship.
Working Hours
The role includes the following regular hours:

Monday – Daytime
-
Wednesday – Evening
-
Thursday – Daytime
-
Every other Saturday – Daytime
There may also be opportunities to undertake additional respite hours throughout the year.
Main Duties
The Personal Care Assistant will provide support with:

Personal care
-
Toileting support
-
Medication prompts
-
Meal preparation and support with meals
-
Using and managing a wheelchair
-
Supporting access to community activities, including bingo and other social outings
-
Attending and accessing day services
-
Providing companionship and social support
-
Promoting independence, choice and wellbeing

Essential Requirements

Ability to drive an adapted vehicle

Full driving licence

Good communication and interpersonal skills
Training
Full training will be provided to the successful candidate.
