Hatherleigh Nursing Home, provides a warm and supportive environment for 53 elderly residents, many of whom are navigating complex life journeys.
As their Cook, you will be responsible for the day to day preparation of homely high-quality food in an efficient, hygienic and creative manner.
Job hours will be 7:00 to 17:00–18:00 with every other weekend off and no split shifts.
Just some of the day to day responsibilities will include:
- Prepare and cook a variety of fresh nutritious meals and other refreshments, ensuing a nutritional and balanced diet
- Ensure the food is presented to a high creative standard
- Ensuring high levels of hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness throughout the kitchen and food store areas
- To make sure that all food at point of serving is of the highest quality
- To constantly check the quality of the food being served to family members
- To control stock rotation to ensure the kitchen and food stores are always well stocked
- Prepare a range of delicious soft meals, putting the joy back into food, designed for those with swallowing difficulties

Experience:
- Food and Hygiene Level 2
- Preferred minimum 2 years’ experience working in a kitchen
- Working as part of a team
- Previous care home experience an advantage but not essential
