Restaurant Supervisor
Mangal II
Purpose of the Role
To support the General Manager and owners in the day-to-day running of the restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, smooth operations and a positive working environment while maintaining the high standards Mangal II is known for.
Key Responsibilities
Restaurant Operations
- Support the daily opening and closing of the restaurant.
- Ensure all areas are clean, organised and ready for service.
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and cleanliness.
- Monitor stock levels and report shortages.
- Assist with ordering supplies when required.
- Ensure the restaurant complies with all health and safety regulations.
- Help maintain the overall appearance and atmosphere of the restaurant.
Team Leadership
- Supervise front of house staff during service.
- Lead by example with a positive, hands-on approach.
- Assist with training and onboarding new team members.
- Delegate tasks effectively and ensure they are completed to a high standard.
- Support staff development through coaching and feedback.
- Help manage staff rotas and holiday requests where required.
- Step into different roles when needed during busy periods.
Customer Experience
- Welcome and engage with guests.
- Resolve customer complaints quickly and professionally.
- Build relationships with regular customers.
- Ensure every guest receives friendly and attentive service.
- Help maintain the warm and welcoming atmosphere Mangal II is known for.
Reservations and Events
- Manage bookings using SevenRooms.
- Assist with organising private dining, events and pop ups.
- Liaise with guests regarding dietary requirements and special requests.
- Ensure smooth communication between the kitchen and front of house during events.
Financial Responsibilities
- Support daily cashing up procedures.
- Assist with end of day reports.
- Support stocktakes and inventory management.
Drinks and Wine Programme
- Maintain knowledge of the wine list and cocktail menu.
- Assist with recommending drinks to guests.
- Monitor beverage stock and communicate ordering requirements.
- Help maintain supplier relationships where appropriate.
Health and Safety
- Ensure compliance with Food Hygiene Regulations.
- Follow COSHH procedures.
- Carry out or assist with daily health and safety checks.
- Report maintenance issues promptly.
- Ensure fire exits and safety equipment remain accessible.
Administration
- Respond to customer enquiries by email and telephone.
- Assist with supplier communications.
- Help maintain staff records where required.
- Support social media and promotional activities when needed.
- Assist in implementing new operational procedures.

- Basic understanding of stock control and labour management.
- Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and email.

About the Role
At Mangal II, the Restaurant Supervisor is a hands-on leader who helps ensure every service runs smoothly. In a small, family-run restaurant, no two days are the same. One moment you may be welcoming guests and managing the floor, the next you could be receiving deliveries, updating reservations, supporting an event or stepping behind the bar during a busy service.
The role requires someone who is proactive, adaptable and happy to lead by example. Above all, the Restaurant Supervisor should embody the welcoming, relaxed and professional hospitality that Mangal II has become known for over the last three decades.
Pay: £33,000.00 per year
