Due to a strong workload and continued repeat business we are looking to recruit two full time Playground Installers / Groundworkers on a permanent basis to join our expanding team. This is a long-term position offering stability and the opportunity to work on a wide range of exciting outdoor projects.
Newby Leisure are one of the leading playground design and installation companies in the UK with over 25 years experience. We specialise in the installation of playgrounds, safety surfacing and landscaping projects for schools and nurseries. Our work includes everything from groundworks to specialist safety surfacing and natural play features.
The Role
This is a hands-on outdoor role involving all aspects of playground installation, groundworks, landscaping and surfacing works. No two projects are the same, and the successful candidate will work as part of a team delivering high quality outdoor environments.
Projects include:
· Playground equipment installation
· Groundworks
· Rubber mulch, artificial grass and stone resin surfacing
· Block edging paving and landscaping
· Creating natural play areas including streams, pathways and sensory spaces
· Fencing, seating, shelters and outdoor learning areas
Due to the nature of the work candidates must be willing to work outdoors in all weather conditions and work away from home when required. This can often be Monday – Friday, with accommodation and travel arranged. The role involves working closely within a team and maintaining high standards on site at all times. Work may also involve early mornings and overtime to meet project deadlines.
Please note as we work in schools and nurseries a DBS will be required for this role.
Main Responsibilities
· Install playground equipment and outdoor features safely and accurately
· Excavation and Site preparation works
· Levelling and preparing for surfacing
· Installing surfacing such as stone resin, wet pour, rubber mulch, artificial grass
· Lay block edging, paving and decorative finishes
· Operate hand tools, power tools and small plant and machinery
· Work from site drawings and installation plans
· Maintain a safe clean and organised site
· Work efficiently as part of a team to meet project deadlines
