Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and dependable Furniture Delivery Driver to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be part of a 2 person crew and will be the face of our company, responsible for safely transporting furniture items to customers’ homes and ensuring a smooth delivery experience. You will be provided with a fully expensed and maintained Luton Van including insurance, equipment, company fuel card and uniform. The role is offered on a self employed or employed PAYE basis - the choice is yours.
Duties
- Safely operate our 3.5T Luton Vans, to deliver furniture items across Scotland
- Communicate appropriately with the team, contractors and supervisor.
- Load and unload furniture with care.
- Verify delivery orders, ensuring accuracy in items delivered and proper documentation completion
- Communicate clearly with customers upon arrival, providing excellent service and addressing any questions or concerns
- Follow all traffic laws and company policies to ensure timely and safe deliveries
Experience
- Prior delivery driver experience preferred, especially within furniture or similar industries but not essential. Full training will be provided.
- Valid driver’s license with no more than 3 penalty points, no previous bans or major convictions
- Experience in commercial driving environments preferred but not essential
- Warehouse experience or familiarity with loading/unloading heavy items is highly desirable
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely, handling bulky furniture pieces regularly
- Strong communication skills to interact professionally with customers and team members
Hours
- Monday to Friday full and part time hours available
- Saturday rota, usually 1 in 3 but flexibility is desired
- 7am start. Finish most days between 2-5pm
Remuneration
- Competative day rate
- Day rate always paid in full irrespective of hours worked
- Weekly pay, paid every Friday
