Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and experienced van driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating 3.5 tonne curtain sider with tail lift to deliver goods efficiently across designated routes. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a background in commercial driving and delivery services to contribute to our logistics operations. The position requires a professional attitude, adherence to safety standards, and a commitment to punctuality. There will also be occasional rota-based Saturday work.
There is also an KPI bonus scheme.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate 3.5 tonne van to transport goods to various locations
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring securement of items during transit
- Follow efficient delivery routes, adhering to schedules
- Conduct routine vehicle inspections and report any maintenance issues promptly
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Comply with all road safety regulations and company policies at all times
- Assist with loading and unloading when necessary, ensuring proper handling of goods
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery times or issues
Skills
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record.
- Knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices for safe transportation
- Ability to handle physical tasks associated with loading and unloading cargo
- Good communication skills to liaise effectively with team members and clients
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high standards of safety and professionalism
