Support Workers
We are offering new and exciting positions for full time Support Workers at ProLibertas Care Solutions Ltd, based in Bradford, West Yorkshire.
Function : We provide care to vulnerable adults who are vulnerable but wish to remain living in the community. The focus of Company is to improve people’s independence skills and support them in the future.
The purpose of the role is to provide support to People we Support with various vulnerabilities & challenging behaviours who live in East Lancashire and other nearby locations. The support provided by Support Workers will enable people to live as independently as is possible given their particular needs.

Responsible for: Junior staff on occasions as directed by the line manager
Hours: 40 hours per week, pro rata. Hours are on a rotational shift pattern,including evenings and weekends. There is a requirement for sleep-in shifts on a regular rotational basis, which is a contractual condition of the post.
Pay: £13 - £14.50
As a Support Worker, you will be supporting, motivating and empowering the Person we Support group to improve their independence skills whilst they live in their home environment. This may include developing their basic life skills abilities, enhancing their cooking & domestic skills, supporting them in learning how to deal appropriately with their finances, encouraging them to attend college sessions or undertake voluntary work, preparing them to emotionally cope with the concept with greater levels of independence, enabling them to progress with their recovery and helping them with all aspects of personal care.
OUTLINE OF RESPONSIBILITES:
- To have a keen interest in caring for individuals who are vulnerable and require support from others. This may also include demonstrating skills in working with challenging behaviours, in particular in being able to de-escalate any given situation and to keep focus on achievable goals within the Person we Support group.
- To support each person as they require and according to their care plan; to maintain up to date progress records, which the Person we Support agrees with.
- To provide support to People we Support, as outlined in their care plans, person centred plans, etc., to enable them to lead as independent lifestyle as is compatible with their needs and in accordance with their aspirations
- Using Person Centred Planning, develop and maintain support based on the identified needs and individual aspirations of the People we Support. To ensure that People we Support make use of opportunities in the community for a meaningful and independent life to maximise their full potential.
- To work to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- To demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. To demonstrate excellent listening skills and to provide a non-judgemental level of high quality support at all times.
- With the support of the Registered Manager to assess suitability of prospective People we Support into the domiciliary care scheme using the Company eligibility criteria in liaison with Adult Social Care Departments and other key stakeholders, ensuring equal opportunities.
- To follow guidance from the Registered Manager & Team Leader(s), who will have liaised with Care Managers and other professionals to identify the changing needs of People we Support; to support People we Support to access appropriate services as required.
- Carry out risk assessments and support plans are in place to support People we Support and also with any additional identified hazards.
- To promote a balance between the expressed wishes and choices of People we Support whilst ensuring that People we Support do not expose themselves to uncalculated risks or harm.
- To provide or find information, advice and guidance to People we Support, or support in accessing the appropriate services to do so, on matters relating to personal care, finance, good housekeeping, health, neighbours, safety, security and daily work and leisure activities and ensure that this is done in a way that respects dignity, privacy and choice.
- To help People we Support in accessing local services and resources in the community in order to develop independence and fulfilment in all aspects of their life.
- To respond flexibly to emergencies, this may involve arranging appropriate assistance or attending to problems out of hours etc.
- Attend staff meetings to ensure participation in forward planning and continuity of Services and Quality Standards.
- To comply with Company policies and procedures as indicated in the staff and centre handbooks and other Company literature.
- To ensure that you are familiar and working within Company policies and procedures as standard working practice.
- To work towards the achievement of organisational targets determined by the requirements of our external contracts.
- To develop and demonstrate experience in the design and delivery of supported life skills training to adult People we Support.
- To demonstrate knowledge of how to communicate well with People we Support who have communication issues and/or learning abilities of all levels and ethnic backgrounds.

Pay: £13.00-£14.50 per hour
