As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a professional and reliable HGV Class 1 Driver to join our transport team and help us continue delivering outstanding service to our customers.
The Role
Based at our Sutton site, this is a hands-on driving role involving predominantly multi-drop deliveries to construction sites, landscapers and customers throughout the region.
Our drivers play a vital role in ensuring that our products arrive safely, on time and to the high standards expected by our customers.
We predominately run flat bed trailers so all our products have to be sheeted and un-sheeted manually.
Moffett experience would be advantageous, however full training can be provided for the right candidate. Driver CPC and Category CE Licence are essential.
Key Responsibilities
✅ Safely operate an HGV Class 1 vehicle to transport turf and landscaping products
✅ Complete multi-drop deliveries to customers throughout the region
✅ Conduct vehicle safety checks and complete defect reporting
✅ Plan routes and work efficiently to meet delivery schedules
✅ Load and unload materials safely using appropriate equipment
✅ Ensure all loads are correctly secured
✅ Maintain compliance with Driver CPC regulations, drivers' hours and company procedures
✅ Deliver excellent customer service and represent Sovereign Turf professionally at all times
✅ Maintain accurate delivery and transport records
✅ Communicate effectively with transport coordinators, customers and colleagues
What We're Looking For:
Essential
- Category CE (Class 1) Licence
- Valid Driver CPC Qualification
- Digital Tachograph Card
- Good driving record
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility during peak seasonal periods
- Physically capable of loading and unloading materials where required
Desirable
- Moffett certification or experience
- Multi-drop delivery experience
- Experience delivering to building sites and landscapers
- Flatbed and load restraint experience
- Agricultural, horticultural or construction industry experience
Working Hours
- Full-time permanent position
- Predominantly Sunday to Thursday
- Additional Pay for Sixth day working
- Early starts required
- Nights out will be required, however during busy periods you may be expected to do up to 4 nights out
