Team Manager – Specialist Public Health Nurse

Salary: Agenda for Change Band 7- £49,387 to £56,515 per annum.

Role summary
You’ll be ensuring the delivery of high-quality, needs-led public health services to children, young people and families.
Working within a locality-based Public Health Nursing service, you will be providing effective leadership and operational management with the purpose of delivering the Healthy Child Programme (0-19). You’ll be leading a multidisciplinary team, supporting the assessment and management of complex safeguarding and health needs.
You will also be part of the Public Health Nursing Best Practice group and you will be working in partnership with Specialist Practice Teachers and locality colleagues. This is a collaborative and rewarding role where you will be able to use your position to drive continuous service improvement through partnership working, evidence-based practice and performance management.
Using your significant experience in Public Health Nursing and team management, as well as your strong knowledge of Public Health policy, you will be successful in the achievement of key service priorities and outcomes, supporting locality-based targets and health outcomes for our local communities.
This role is based in Reckleford, Yeovil.
What you’ll do - key responsibilities
Attend, contribute and lead on work streams as part of the Public Health Nursing Management meetings and Public Health Nursing Best Practice group.
Provide leadership and management to a Public Health nursing team covering a defined geographical area, providing comprehensive needs led public health service to the local population.
In partnership with the Specialist Practice Educator, take the lead role within the team in the assessment of highly complex and changing health needs.
Work in partnership with locality colleagues to develop, deliver and evaluate services, which reflect the priorities within the public health services.
Manage and coordinate teams to deliver skilled and effective care in order to promote positive health outcomes and respond to identified individual client and public health needs.
Lead and coordinate the delivery of the Health Child Programme (0-19 years) to a defined population. Monitor the health outcomes and delivery of the programme.
What we’re looking for – knowledge, experience & skills
Significant post-qualifying experience within Public Health Nursing.
Demonstrable experience of leading and managing multidisciplinary teams.
Experience of leading or coordinating the delivery of public health programmes, including monitoring outcomes and performance against key targets.
Sound knowledge of national and local public health policy, priorities and frameworks relevant to Public Health Nursing practice.
Up-to-date knowledge of safeguarding legislation and statutory guidance in relation to children, young people and families.
Registered Nurse with relevant Specialist Public Health Nursing qualification.
Proven ability to assess, manage and lead responses to highly complex and changing health needs, including safeguarding.
Ability to work effectively in partnership with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Information
This is a full-time position working 37.5 hours per week.
30 days of annual leave (additional to bank holidays).
