An opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to join our team at our new clinic in Dorchester area. This post is due to our continued planned extension of our clinic capacity. Initially offered on a zero-hour contract basis, with the plan for regular hours and longer-term opportunities based on performance and business needs in the coming months.
This is an excellent entry level (equivalent to NHS band 2) position for anyone looking to work in the healthcare industry. We have two basic requirements of the ideal applicant - competent and safe worker with a passion for quality healthcare and and awareness and passion in deleverying exceptional private patient experience.
The role would best suit an individual who looks forward to connecting with patients, building relationships with their team and takes pride in the growth and expansion of the company. The dual experiences of healthcare and commercial practices gained is a unique offering of this post. You will need to be a quick learner and competent with digital healthcare and business IT systems.
You will be responsible for helping to run routine clinic activities, contributing to business development and will be part of high quality patient bookings and continuity of care process. The duties include but are not limited to
- Support in the organised running of face to face clinics
- Help and support for the practitioners in the performance of skin examinations as chaperone and patient assistant.
- Assist practitioners with minor surgical procedures with competent use of sterile technique (training will be recevied)
- Help patients to book the best service type for their requirement with your practical knowledge gained from the in house training and clinic environment. This can happen if an upgrade is required or additional treatment.
- Putting patients at ease during procedures and consultations
- Arranging patient follow up calls
- Patient record administration
- Assist with procedures using specialised medical equipment, including cosmetic dermatology.
- Specimen collection and testing such as swabs, urine test and blood tests .
- Shared responsibility for the clinical area including help with stock management, cleanliness and patient records.
You will be supported by onsite clinicians and a wider team nationally. Much of the required training (clinical and commercial) is provided internally with plenty of support. For interested candidates, career progression pathways are also available.
Requirements
Proven experience in a clinical setting
Commercial experience (desirable)
Full clean driving license
Ability to put patients at ease
Professional phone manner
Excellent written and spoken English
Phlebotomy Skill (essential)
Knowledge and experience of sterile procedure settings
Understanding of clinic processes
IT skills (essential) using a Mac and Apple software(desirable)
Quick learner who is keen to learn new skills
This is a small practice and as such, in addition to your normal duties, you may be required to undertake other duties from time to time as directed which may not always be commensurate with your principal duties. We operate with high ethical standards of business, education and healthcare and expect the same from all employees.
Job Types: Full time. Part time consider (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). Permanent(Please advise on your application full or part time).
Salary: £25,500-26,700K per year (pro rata based in number of hours worked and range is dependent on skill level).
