Overview
We are a newly opened Nursery open for 50 weeks per year. We are a small setting caring for up to 16 children. Typical hours 8am to 5.30pm, 4 days per week (34 hours).
We are looking for dedicated and passionate L 3 qualified Senior Nursery Practitioners to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children, experience of working with babies and toddlers, and be committed to fostering a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for young learners. Responsibilities
- Lead and support a small team of practitioners alongside the Nursery Manager and Deputy Manager
- Act as 3rd in charge when required
- Plan and deliver engaging age-appropriate activities that promote children's development across all areas.
- Supervise and support children during play, learning, and mealtime to ensure their safety and well-being.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming nursery environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Observe and record children's progress, providing feedback to parents and colleagues as needed.
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding children's development, behaviour, and daily activities.
- Ensure compliance with all nursery policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.
- Assist with administrative tasks such as planning , daily diaries and maintaining documentation related to children's records.
Requirements
- Childcare qualification - L3 recognised within the UK (e.g., Cache or NVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent).
- Proven experience in leading a team in a childcare setting
- Proven experience working with children within a nursery or early childhood setting.
- Knowledge of the EYFS, child development principles, safeguarding and early childhood education practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
- A caring attitude with patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with young children.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also demonstrating initiative and leadership when required.
