Design Draftsperson will report to the Design Office Manager. Duties will primarily be the effective delivery of 2D drawing submission, produce Stage Gate 2 documentation, problem solving and any other tasks as directed by the Design Office Manager or Senior Design Engineer.
What you'll be doing:
Produce supporting 2D drawings including P&IDs and BOM.
Ensure drawings are compliant with company / industry processes and standards.
Monitor (and uphold) the standards of all work produced within the department.
Ensure weld detail / procedures are present (and correct) on company drawings.
Support the compiling of job packets, ensuring all relevant documentation is present and correct.
Attend design and project kick off meetings when required.
Assist Project Managers/ Design Office Manager with Stage Gate 2 documentation.
Management of adherence to company procedures, with particular emphasis in regard to the company health & safety policies.
Maintenance of company procedures and documentation.
Effective updating and maintenance of any appropriate departmental records (if required).
Who we are looking for:
Mechanical Engineering/Design experience and relevant certification with demonstratable track record of relevant personal professional development.
Previous experience reading technical drawings and fluency in English is essential.
Previous experience working for an OEM or packager of equipment and UK municipal water sector is preferred.
Previous experience producing general arrangement drawings and drawings for manufacture including BOMs is preferred.
Self-starter with an ability to keep focussed on the result and what they need to do to achieve it without the need for close supervision.
A team player with a collaborative mindset, with the ability to work effectively across teams and departments.
Proficient in the use of 3D and 2D CAD systems with strong knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD preferred.
Proficient in using Microsoft software required for role, e.g. Office, Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook and Teams.
