About the Role
The Ruskin Collection was originally created to inspire the metalworkers and craftspeople of Sheffield and reflects John Ruskin’s belief in the positive impact of art and nature. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about engaging people with the Ruskin Collection and highlighting its contemporary relevance. As Curator of the Ruskin Collection you will champion access to this exciting Collection, lead its management and care and work collaboratively to display, research and interpret it.
The Ruskin Collection is owned by the Guild of St George and cared for and managed on their behalf by Sheffield Museums Trust.

About You
The successful candidate will have:
-
a degree level or equivalent qualification in a relevant subject
-
demonstrable experience of curating Visual or Decorative Art collections
-
experience collaboratively developing and delivering engagement activities, including displays, exhibitions and events, that appeal to a range of audiences
-
experience in research and collections management
-
experience working collaboratively with colleagues and multi-disciplinary teams
-
experience building networks with communities, businesses and specialists
-
excellent organisational and administrative skills with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple projects simultaneously
-
ability to make specialist knowledge of interest and relevance to a wide range of people
-
flexible approach to working hours
-
ability to work on own initiative and within a team
