£14.00–£23.00 per hour, depending on experience and responsibilities
Up to approximately 10 hours per week
Flexible / Hybrid – Work from home and/or office
We are looking for an organised and reliable Payroll & Accounts Administrator to support our growing business.
Initially, the main responsibility will be processing our monthly payroll, but there is scope for the role to develop to include invoicing, bookkeeping and wider finance administration.
This could suit an experienced payroll administrator or bookkeeper looking for a flexible part-time role, including someone who prefers to work predominantly from home.
Responsibilities may include
- Processing monthly payroll accurately and on time
- Maintaining payroll records and dealing with payroll queries
- Processing starters, leavers, holidays and other payroll changes
- Liaising with management regarding payroll information
- Maintaining accurate records within Xero
- Raising and managing customer invoices
- Recording and reconciling payments
- Bank reconciliation
- General bookkeeping and finance administration
- Supporting the business with other accounts-related tasks as the role develops
Experience
We are looking for someone who:
- Has previous payroll experience
- Is confident using Xero
- Has experience of payroll software
- Ideally has experience using Moneysoft Payroll Manager, although we would consider changing payroll software for the right person
- Has good attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
- Is organised and comfortable working independently
- Understands the importance of confidentiality when dealing with payroll and financial information
Bookkeeping or wider accounts experience would be an advantage but is not essential if you are initially applying primarily for the payroll element of the role.
Hours
The role is flexible and we are still developing the exact requirement.
Initially, the hours may be relatively limited around our monthly payroll cycle, with the opportunity to increase as additional bookkeeping, invoicing and finance responsibilities are added.
We anticipate the role developing to up to approximately 10 hours per week.
Hours can be arranged flexibly and the role can be carried out from home, from our office, or as a combination of both.
Pay
£14.00–£23.00 per hour, depending on experience, skills and the level of responsibility undertaken.
There is scope for both the responsibilities and remuneration to develop as the role grows.
About the role
This is an opportunity to take ownership of an important part of our business administration without necessarily committing to a traditional full-time accounts position.
We are particularly interested in finding someone dependable who can initially take responsibility for payroll and, if mutually suitable, gradually become more involved in the day-to-day financial administration of the business.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £14.00–£23.00 per hour
Expected hours: Up to 10 per week
Work location: Hybrid / Remote
