Part-Time Receptionist
Bexley, Kent / SE London | Established 1987
Bexley Osteopathic Clinic is a busy, long-established, family-run clinic in the heart of Bexley Village. We’ve been helping people locally and beyond since 1987 and have a team of 9 osteopaths and 2–3 massage therapists.
We’re looking for a friendly, organised and reliable Part-Time Receptionist to join our reception team.
The Role
As the first point of contact for our patients, you’ll play an important part in providing a warm, professional and welcoming experience.
Your role will include:
- Answering telephone calls and dealing with patient enquiries
- Booking and amending appointments using Cliniko practice management software
- Responding to emails and other patient communications
- Taking payments and carrying out general reception administration
- Welcoming patients and supporting them during their visit
- Liaising with our osteopaths and massage therapists
- Keeping reception and patient records organised and up to date
- Working within a strict GDPR, confidentiality and data protection framework
- Assisting with social media and other digital tasks when required
- Monitoring stock levels and carrying out regular stock checks for clinic supplies
- Ensuring treatment rooms are smart, tidy and well presented
- Ensuring practitioners' cupboards and treatment areas are well stocked and that practitioners have the supplies they need readily available
- Reporting directly to the Practice Manager
The clinic occupies the first and second floors of an older building, and the role naturally involves moving between the different areas of the practice, including reception, treatment rooms and storage areas.
You’ll work alongside our Assistant to the Practice Manager and another Receptionist, although the role involves working independently as the sole receptionist at times during your shift.
We’re Looking For Someone Who Is
- Friendly, approachable and confident speaking to patients
- An excellent verbal and written communicator, with a high standard of spoken and written English
- Organised and able to manage a busy reception
- Reliable and punctual - essential, as without a receptionist the clinic cannot open
- Competent using computers, standard IT systems and digital communication tools
- Comfortable using social media and able to assist with basic social media and digital tasks
- Professional, with excellent attention to detail
- Committed to maintaining a smart, professional business dress code appropriate for a healthcare environment
- Calm and helpful when dealing with patients and enquiries
- Able to remain calm, organised and effective when working under pressure
- A good team player who is also happy working independently
- Able to work within strict GDPR, confidentiality and data protection requirements
- Proactive and willing to take responsibility for keeping the reception area, treatment rooms and clinic supplies organised
Previous reception or healthcare experience would be useful, but is not essential for the right person. Training on our systems and procedures will be provided.
Hours
This is a part-time position.
You must be available to work:
- Saturdays: 8.30am–2.15pm
- One or two weekday afternoon/evening shifts, working until 7.15pm
- Additional shifts to cover staff holidays and occasional staff absences, with advance notice and subject to availability
Our clinic is open Monday to Friday until 7pm and on Saturdays, so flexibility around these hours is important.
