Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our team. This role involves supporting the preparation and service of food and beverages with in a canteen on a busy construction site .
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication skills aswel as a polite approach attuide, a strong understanding of food safety, and experience in hospitality or related fields.
This position offers an opportunity to develop culinary and guest service skills within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist with food preparation, presentation, and serving to ensure high standards of quality are kept at all times.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of kitchen and serving areas in compliance with food safety regulations
- Provide excellent guest services by attending to customer needs courteously and professionally
- Taking orders or providing information as required
- Assist in meal preparation tasks under supervision, ensuring timely delivery of services during busy periods
- Restock supplies as needed to ensure smooth operation throughout shifts
Qualifications
- Previous experience in hospitality, food preparation, or restaurant/canteen environments is desirable
- Knowledge of food safety standards and procedures
- Experience as a delivery driver is advantageous but not essential
- Skills in cooking, meal preparation, and basic kitchen operations are preferred
- Strong communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with guests and team members
- Excellent organisational abilities
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills within the catering industry
