Salary: £38,494

What you'll be doing
You'll help ensure our Huddersfield energy recovery plant operates safely and at peak performance:
- Deliver planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across all plant areas, ensuring installations and modifications comply with the latest standards and regulatory requirements.
- Provide guidance, supervision, and technical support to junior staff and contractors to foster skill development and safe working practices.
- Collaborate with colleagues across different functions to support smooth, cross-team operations.
- Troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues promptly to maximise plant availability and efficiency.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, health & safety, and environmental compliance.
What are the requirements?
- Predominantly mechanical background with basic electrical knowledge, ideally from an engineering apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience.
- Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician/Engineer in manufacturing, production, or heavy industrial environments, with knowledge of conveyors, motors, gearboxes, hydraulics, and pneumatics (basic electrical fault-finding highly beneficial).
- Ideally qualified to City & Guilds/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent.
- Ability to use Computerised Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) (desirable).
IOSH qualification (desirable but not essential - we'll support you to gain it if needed).
