The Tennis for All Development Coordinator is a community tennis role responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering accessible tennis opportunities across local communities. This includes the school’s tennis programme, estate and outreach programme, and leading the implementation and growth of the Barclays Free Park Tennis programme across eight community tennis sites. The successful individual will also play a key role in the wider coordination of the Tennis for All programme.
The postholder will ensure high-quality, inclusive community tennis delivery that increases participation, particularly amongst children and young people, women and girls, ethnically diverse communities, disadvantaged or inactive people, and people with disabilities. The role combines community programme coordination, administration, partnership working, and direct delivery to create meaningful and lasting impact through tennis.
The postholder will be responsible for:
Schools Programme Coordination & Delivery (Community Tennis Focus)
- Coordinating all aspects of the Tennis for All community tennis schools programme, including scheduling, bookings, communication with schools, and delivery planning
- Acting as the main point of contact for partner schools, teachers and school sport leads, strengthening links between schools and local community tennis opportunities
- Supporting and, where required, directly delivering high-quality, inclusive community tennis sessions in primary and secondary school settings
- Ensuring clear and effective transition pathways from school-based tennis into community, park and club tennis provision
- Managing registers, attendance data, feedback and reporting requirements linked to schools delivery
- Acting as the main point of contact for school programme funders, completing all required data collection and reporting
Barclays Free Park Tennis – Programme Implementation
- Leading the implementation of Barclays Free Park Tennis across 8 community park tennis sites
- Coordinating session timetables, activator deployment, equipment and site logistics to support accessible community tennis delivery
- Supporting and monitoring on-court delivery to ensure consistency, quality and inclusivity across all community sessions
- Working closely with Tennis for All management and delivery teams to grow community participation and retain players within local tennis pathways
Programme Development & Partnership Working
- Establishing and maintaining strong partnerships with schools, local authorities, and community organisations to strengthen community tennis provision
- Supporting the development of new, inclusive participation opportunities linked to schools and community tennis programmes
- Working collaboratively with the wider Access to Sports team to integrate Tennis for All within broader community sport and physical activity programmes
Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting
- Implementing effective monitoring and evaluation processes across all community tennis programmes, including schools and park delivery
- Collecting, managing and analysing participation data and outcomes (quantitative and qualitative) to evidence community impact
- Producing regular reports for internal use and external stakeholders, including funders and partners
- Supporting the capture of case studies, participant feedback, photos, video and digital content to showcase the impact of community tennis initiatives
Staffing, Volunteers & Workforce Support
- Supporting the coordination and supervision of coaches, volunteers, community activators and sessional staff delivering community tennis activities
- Assisting with the recruitment and onboarding of new coaches and volunteers to support community delivery
- Supporting coach education and activator training opportunities in collaboration with the Coach Education Coordinator
Additional Tasks
- Attending community events, school events and outreach activities to promote community tennis opportunities
- Supporting holiday programmes and inclusive community tennis events where required
- Providing internal updates and reports on programme delivery
- Undertaking training and CPD relevant to community sports development and tennis
- Keeping up to date with best practice in community tennis and inclusive sports development
Regulatory & Legal Compliance
- Working with the Chief Executive and Tennis for All Manager to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met, including health & safety, safeguarding, data protection and equal opportunities
- Ensuring all staff and volunteers promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults
- Following statutory safeguarding guidance and local child protection procedures
- Sharing information appropriately with partner agencies in line with legislation and organisational policy
Functional Support
- Contributing to organisational functions including programme administration, reporting, record keeping and data management

- Experience delivering sessions with individuals identifying as having a SEND/Mental Health Conditions or would be willing to undergo CPD for appropriate delivery (D)
- Experience of coordinating and/or leading service delivery and achieving targets. (E)
- Experience of producing high quality and impactful reports using a variety of methods: presentations, written, video or social media. (D)
