What are we looking for
We have an opportunity for a Quality Systems Engineer to support the continuous improvement of the ITM Business Management System (BMS) which includes key business processes, manufacturing quality systems and Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental (QHSE) processes. The role will involve working closely with the Head of QHSE, Health & Safety Manager and Environmental Manager.
Responsibilities

Oversee the effective implementation and continuous improvement of the ITM Business Management System (BMS) throughout the company.
- Facilitate business process-mapping and support the development and release of high-quality documentation relating to Key Business Processes, Manufacturing Quality Systems and QHSE Processes.
- Manage the document control requirements of the ITM Business Management System (BMS) that includes key business processes, procedures and work instructions across all departments and functions, including their formal review and update to the company Q-Pulse and Business Management System (BMS) platforms.
- Maintain change and version control of BMS documentation ensuring that quality and accuracy are maintained throughout the review, approval and release process.
- Manage the QHSE internal audit schedule in accordance with business, third party certification (ISO9001/ ISO14001/ ISO45001) and applicable legal requirements (e.g. Pressure Equipment Directive) including monitoring, tracking and close-out of internal audits and corrective actions in a timely manner.
- Lead Auditor for multiple internal audits including QHSE processes and procedures, key business processes and internal project audits during the tender, design and manufacturing stages.
- Organise training, facilitation and guidance to internal audit teams, including awareness and understanding of the implementation requirements of ISO9001/ ISO14001/ ISO45001, as appropriate.
- Develop strong working relationships with subject matter experts, technical leads and other stakeholders across all departments and functions including Manufacturing, Planning, Compliance, QHSE, Facilities Management, IT, Logistics and Warehousing, Production Engineering, Science, Stack R&D, Aftersales and Commissioning, Sales and Purchasing, as required.
- Prepare QHSE data to enable monitoring, measurement and reporting of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Support QHSE investigations and structured problem solving using Six Sigma/ 8D tools and methodologies.
About You
Knowledge and Experience

HNC or degree qualified in an Engineering or Science based subject
- Proven experience of quality assurance (minimum 3 years) and QHSE management systems in a manufacturing and/ or technical environment
- Strong knowledge and practical understanding of ISO9001/ 14001/ 45001 international management systems standards
- Lead Auditor or Auditor qualification and practical audit experience
- Factory-build knowledge and experience of products, how the work should be undertaken and the development of practical and user-friendly management system documentation
- Good knowledge of structured problem-solving techniques (e.g. Six Sigma/ Lean Toolbox) and experienced in improvement methodologies

Excellent communication, analytical and IT skills (e.g. Microsoft 365 applications, Sharepoint)
- Positive attitude with a ‘can do’ mindset when faced with a challenge
- Able to challenge, motivate and enthuse fellow colleagues across other departments in the development of a proactive and preventive quality improvement culture
