ROLE: Waste Champion – Food Manufacturing (FTC)
HOURS: Full time – Temporary role (6-month contract to cover maternity leave)
LOCATION: Site based at 54 Church St, Caldewgate, Carlisle, CA2 5TG

We're looking for a Site Waste Champion who will be responsible for the communication and execution of the Imperfect Product sales agenda and associated site waste streams, reporting to the central functional lead.
- Responsible for the organisation and maximising collection opportunities in each product category of imperfect product
- Collaborate effectively and escalate potential risks to key stakeholders
- Deliver documented reports on waste stream progress on a weekly basis to key stakeholders
- Cover multiple waste streams across the site including card, plastic, animal feed, R1 Reduce, R2 Reuse and R3 Recycle (this list is not exhaustive)
- Deliver the weekly and monthly Imperfect Product sales numbers versus forecast
- Effective at building relationships and able to interact with people at all levels
- Able to work autonomously and as part of a team towards a common goal
- Logical mind with a strong eye for detail and an organised approach
- Proficient Excel and PowerPoint skills including data analysis, advanced formula creation, pivot tables and generating weekly and monthly reports
- Proactive, good communicator and able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Fixed-term contract for 6 months covering maternity leave
- Annual salary of £30,000
- Opportunity to work closely with the UK Waste Specialist and Site Management Teams
- Exposure to waste stream management, reporting and data-driven decision making
