Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled Mild Steel Fabricator / Welder to join our growing engineering and fabrication team. This is a hands-on role requiring proven experience in fabrication, not just welding, with the ability to take a project from raw material through to site installation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Fabricate components and assemblies from drawings using mild steel, including sheet metal, SHS, and structural steels of various thicknesses.
- High standard of reading technical drawings.
- Carry out MIG welding to a high standard; MMA welding experience is desirable.
- Use fabrication tools including guillotines, band saws, grinders, drills, and press brakes.
- Participate in site fitting and installation of fabricated products, ensuring work is completed safely and to specification.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet project deadlines.
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and quality control in the workshop and on-site.
Skills and Experience:
- Demonstrable experience as a fabricator/welder, with strong fabrication abilities (not just welding).
- Competent in reading and interpreting technical drawings.
- MIG welding essential; MMA welding advantageous.
- Experience working with different thicknesses of mild steel and structural components.
- Ability to fit and assemble products both in the workshop and on-site.
- Knowledge of safe working practices and willingness to adhere to company H&S policies.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
