Permanent, Full-time, 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Council's Housing Property Service, which sits within the Housing arm of Rotherham Council's Adult Care, Housing & Public Health directorate. The service is responsible for managing repairs, maintenance and compliance across the Council's social housing stock.
The role will support the delivery of a modern, efficient and customer-focused repairs and maintenance service. The successful candidate will be organised and motivated, with good technical or trade knowledge in relation to domestic properties.
The successful candidate will carry out inspections within customer’s homes, including works linked to alterations, repairs, planned works and empty properties. You will work to set processes and procedures across areas such as larger works, adaptations or alterations, responsive repairs and void properties.
You will provide technical and professional advice to the service and its customers, manage caseloads, carry out personal risk assessments and ensure clear advice, guidance and support is recorded accurately on the relevant Housing IT system.
The role will also involve supporting service improvement activity, project work, quality checks, auditing of processes, performance monitoring and the preparation of reports, action plans and work programmes. You may also support contract administration, including monitoring expenditure and ensuring actions are delivered successfully.
You will work closely with customers, internal colleagues, contractors, other local authorities, outside agencies and private sector partners to help deliver effective outcomes for tenants and support continuous improvement across Housing Property Services.
You will report to the Senior Technical Officer and contribute to service improvements while helping ensure the Council's housing stock is well-maintained, safe and compliant with current regulations.

The successful candidate will have:

Experience of conducting inspections within customers' homes, specifically in relation to alterations, repairs, planned works or empty properties.
- Experience of working to set processes and procedures linked to larger works, adaptations or alterations, repairs or voids.
- Experience of working with people in a customer-focused service delivery organisation.
- Experience of working effectively in a housing-related or other public service environment.
- The ability to carry out personal risk assessments and manage caseloads effectively.
- The ability to provide advice, guidance and support, with clear notes produced for input onto the Housing IT system.
- Good technical or trade knowledge in relation to domestic properties.
- Experience of using a range of computer applications and ICT, including word processing, spreadsheets, databases, internet and email.
- The ability to communicate and liaise with a wide range of people and maintain sensitive and confidential information.
- A Level 6 qualification or evidence of the equivalent level of knowledge gained through work experience.
