Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Kitchen Assistant to support our culinary team in delivering high-quality meals and maintaining a clean, organised kitchen environment. Duties
- Assist with meal preparation and food safety procedures to ensure compliance with health standards
- Support chefs and kitchen staff in basic cooking tasks and ingredient organisation
- Prepare ingredients by washing, peeling, chopping, and portioning as required
- Maintain cleanliness of work surfaces, utensils, and equipment throughout shifts
- Help with the organisation of stock levels and storage areas to ensure efficient workflow
- Serve food to guests or assist with plating under supervision
- Follow all safety guidelines and procedures to uphold a safe working environment
- Support catering events by setting up and clearing away equipment and supplies
Skills
- Previous experience in catering, cooking, or restaurant environments is desirable but not essential; training will be provided
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices
- Ability to assist with meal and food preparation efficiently and accurately
- Good organisational skills with attention to detail in handling ingredients and equipment
- Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards supporting colleagues
- Basic understanding of culinary techniques and food presentation is advantageous
- Excellent communication skills for serving guests and collaborating within the team
