Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Excavator Operator to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating excavators safely and efficiently on various projects, ensuring the smooth progress of earthworks and site development. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with mechanical knowledge and experience in commercial driving to contribute to large-scale infrastructure projects.
Responsibilities
- Operate excavators to perform digging, trenching, lifting, and material handling tasks in accordance with project specifications.
- Conduct routine inspections of equipment to ensure safety and operational efficiency, reporting any faults or maintenance needs promptly.
- Assist with site preparation, grading, and backfilling activities as required.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Collaborate with team members to coordinate tasks effectively and meet project deadlines.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment usage.

Skills
- Proven experience operating excavators in a construction or civil engineering environment.
- Strong mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor issues and perform basic maintenance on machinery.
- Valid commercial driving licence with experience in operating heavy plant machinery on public roads if required.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety procedures relevant to construction sites.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
