Job Summary
We are seeking a friendly, flexible, experienced, hard working, and proactive Retail Assistant with a strong work ethic to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellent customer service, till work, cash handling, maintaining the sales floor, stock replenishment, cleaning, and supporting daily store operations. This role is within a fast paced retail environment, retail experience and flexibility is essential, not just preferred.
Please note, although till work will be required at times, this role is predominantly a stock replenishment role. Heavy lifting and working quickly to ensure filling targets are met is essential in this role and you shouldn't apply if you you are not prepared for this kind of role.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and assist with their enquiries in a professional manner
- Support merchandising efforts by arranging products attractively and restocking shelves as needed
- Provide product information and upselling suggestions to maximise sales opportunities
- Operate the cash register efficiently, handling transactions accurately and maintaining phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone
- Ensure a tidy and accessible environment
- Assist in visual displays and promotional activities to enhance store presentation
- Manage time effectively to ensure all duties are completed within scheduled shifts
- Maintain excellent communication with team members to ensure smooth store operations
Skills
- Fluency in English
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Basic maths skills for handling transactions and stock counts
- Organisational skills to manage stock levels and maintain store appearance
- Time management abilities to prioritise tasks effectively during busy periods
- Upselling techniques to promote products and increase sales volume at the tills
- Merchandising knowledge to create appealing product displays
- Ability to work well within a team, demonstrating organisational skills and adaptability
This role will play a vital part in ensuring our customers enjoy a positive shopping experience while supporting the overall success of the store.
Retail experience is essential, not just preferred. Full flexibility to work various shifts between 08.00 - 23.00 is also essential.
Please don't waste your time, or ours, if you do not have the required experience, and you can only work certain hours/shifts. You will be required to work various shifts on an 8 hour contract, the base contracted hours does not mean that is all you will be scheduled to work on a weekly basis. Some weeks you could be scheduled to more than 8 hours, up to 30 hours in a week ,in some cases.
Hospitality is not retail experience and applications will be rejected should you not have the retail experience we require.
This is fast paced retail and we need staff to be able to work quickly and efficiently, and ultimately be reliable team players.

Pay: £12.71 per hour
