Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and technically skilled Field Technician to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a variety of equipment and systems in the field. The position involves travelling to client sites, diagnosing issues, and ensuring optimal operation of equipment across diverse environments.
Duties
Ø Technical Delivery Prepare, test, configure, and commission LED display systems for rental projects and permanent installations. Install, calibrate, and maintain indoor and outdoor LED displays.
Ø Configure LED processors, controllers, and associated video distribution systems. Conduct fault finding, repairs, and preventative maintenance on LED cabinets, power systems, receiving cards, and associated equipment.
Ø Provide remote technical assistance to field teams where necessary
Ø Manage display calibration, colour matching, brightness optimisation, and image quality control.
Ø Produce and maintain technical documentation, system drawings, and installation records.
Ø Prepare accurate technical job sheets for regional areas.
Ø Rental & Event Operations Lead LED deployments for live events, sports venues, corporate events, and entertainment productions.
Ø Manage load-in, operation, and de-rig of LED systems.
Ø Ensure all rental equipment is tested and returned to stock in excellent condition.
Ø Support project managers and account managers during technical planning and delivery.
Ø Provide on-site technical support during live events and critical broadcasts.
Ø Fixed Installation Projects Assist with site surveys and technical assessments.
Ø Install and commission permanent LED display systems.
Ø Perform routine service visits, inspections, and preventative maintenance.
Ø Support clients with system training and technical handovers.
Ø Respond to service calls and resolve technical issues within agreed service levels.
Ø Leadership & Team Management Supervise and mentor LED technicians, freelancers, and installation crews.
Ø Lead by example in maintaining technical standards and safe working practices.
Ø Client communication Assist in developing departmental procedures and best practices.
Ø Support training initiatives and technical development programmes.
Candidate Speciation:
Ø Essential Minimum 5 years' experience working with LED display technology.
Ø Strong knowledge of LED display systems, signal flow, and video distribution.
Ø Experience with major LED processing platforms including:
Ø Novastar Aoto (desirable) Ability to diagnose and repair LED display faults.
Ø Experience leading technical teams and freelance crews.
Ø Excellent understanding of power distribution and networking principles.
Ø Full UK driving licence.
Ø Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
Ø Willing to progress with the business
Ø Experience with CAD software and technical drawings.
Desirable:
Ø IPAF certification. PASMA certification. ECS/CSCS card. Electrical qualifications.
Ø Experience working in sports venues
Pay: £30,000.00-£32,000.00 per year
