Registered Manager / Care Manager – 12-Month Contract

Contract: Fixed Term – Approximately 12 Months

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Registered Manager / Care Manager to take the lead of an established care home in the Nottingham area on an initial 12-month contract.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced manager or interim care professional who can provide strong leadership, maintain high standards of governance and compliance, and support the continued success and development of the service.
The Role
As Registered Manager / Care Manager, you will take overall responsibility for the effective day-to-day management of the service, ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality and person-centred care.
You will be expected to provide confident leadership, maintain the home's existing strong governance arrangements and work proactively to support occupancy, income and continued service improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong, visible and effective leadership to the care team, ensuring staff are well supported, motivated and accountable.
Maintain and build upon the home's excellent internal audit, governance and risk management systems.
Ensure the service consistently meets the CQC Fundamental Standards and all relevant regulatory requirements.
Take ownership of compliance, safeguarding, quality assurance, risk management and service improvement.
Work proactively to maintain and improve occupancy and income, whilst ensuring quality of care remains the priority.
Provide clear expectations and direction to staff through effective verbal and written communication.
Work independently, using your professional knowledge, experience and judgement to make confident management decisions.
Build strong and professional relationships with residents, families, visitors, healthcare professionals, commissioners and other external stakeholders.
Ensure the service remains well-led, responsive and focused on delivering positive outcomes for residents.
Identify opportunities for improvement and ensure agreed actions are implemented and sustained.
Maintain a culture of openness, transparency, accountability and continuous improvement.
About You
We are looking for a confident and experienced Registered Manager or Care Manager who can step into the role and take ownership from day one.
You will ideally have:
Previous experience managing a care or nursing home.
Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and the Fundamental Standards.
Proven experience in governance, auditing, compliance and risk management.
Strong leadership and people-management skills.
Experience managing occupancy, budgets and operational performance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
The confidence to work independently and make sound professional decisions.
A professional, approachable and transparent management style.
The ability to build trust with staff, residents, families and external professionals.
A strong commitment to person-centred care and excellent service delivery.
