You’ll join OCU’s Regulated Power division playing a key role in delivering electrical infrastructure, substation and grid connection projects that support the UK’s energy network. Working across long-term framework agreements, you’ll contribute to projects that are critical to maintaining and strengthening the country’s power infrastructure.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of commercial delivery across multiple projects, influencing cost performance, managing contractual risk and supporting the successful delivery of complex infrastructure programmes within a growing organisation.
You’ll take responsibility for commercial management across multiple projects, acting as the primary point of contact for cost control, contractual compliance and commercial performance. Working closely with project teams and stakeholders, you’ll support commercial strategy while ensuring projects are delivered in line with contractual and financial expectations.
You’ll manage NEC3 and NEC4 contracts, including the administration of Early Warnings and Compensation Events, ensuring all contractual processes are handled accurately and in a timely manner. You’ll drive cost control and forecasting activities, maintaining clear visibility of project performance and supporting effective financial decision-making.
You’ll oversee subcontract procurement and negotiation, manage final accounts and support the resolution of any commercial issues that arise throughout the project lifecycle. Alongside this, you’ll build strong relationships with clients and internal teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment across all stakeholders.
A key part of your role will be identifying and managing commercial risks and opportunities, supporting the successful delivery of projects while maximising value. You’ll also contribute to the development of junior team members, sharing knowledge and supporting the growth of the wider commercial function.
Essential:
- Proven experience managing NEC3 or NEC4 contracts, particularly Option C
- Background in utilities, power, infrastructure or civil engineering projects
- Strong commercial and financial management skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively
Desirable:
- Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
- Professional membership such as RICS or CICES
- Experience working on electrical infrastructure, substations or grid connection projects
