Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated Food Service Order Picker to join our warehouse team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately selecting food products for dispatch, ensuring that orders are fulfilled efficiently and to the highest quality standards. This role involves handling materials, operating warehouse equipment, and maintaining stock integrity within a fast-paced environment. Previous warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge are advantageous, with a focus on safety and accuracy in all tasks.
Responsibilities
- Select food products from storage areas based on order specifications using appropriate picking techniques
- Utilise warehouse management systems to track inventory levels and update order statuses
- Pack and prepare orders for shipping, ensuring correct quantities and product integrity
- Manage stock levels by replenishing shelves and organising storage areas efficiently
- Conduct quality control checks to verify product condition and accuracy of orders
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe work environment in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safe handling procedures to prevent injury
Experience
- Proven experience in materials handling within a warehouse or food distribution environment
- Familiarity with forklift safety protocols is highly desirable
- Knowledge of picking & packing processes, along with stock management techniques
- Mechanical knowledge beneficial for troubleshooting equipment issues
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy in order fulfilment and quality control
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during daily operations
Pay: Up to £12.71 per hour
