About the Role:
Leeds is a city where historic architecture and ambitious modern development come together. At Atelier 139 Design Studio, we bring that same balance to every project we deliver. We create thoughtful, practical and visually distinctive spaces for commercial, residential and mixed use developments across the United Kingdom.
We are looking for a Project Architect who can take ownership of projects from design development through to completion. You will coordinate consultants, manage technical information and ensure that each project meets the expected standards for quality, compliance, budget and programme.
You will work closely with clients, contractors, designers and technical specialists, acting as a central point of coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
Why Work With Us?
The Environment:
Our Leeds studio provides a collaborative and design focused working environment. You will work alongside architects, interior designers, technicians and project managers who value open communication and practical problem solving.
Project Variety:
Our portfolio includes workplace, residential, hospitality and commercial projects. You will have the opportunity to work across different project types and develop a broad range of architectural experience.
Professional Development:
We support continued learning through industry events, professional memberships, technical training and opportunities to take greater responsibility on complex projects.
Meaningful Responsibility:
You will have genuine ownership of your projects. Your ideas and technical judgement will directly influence design decisions, delivery methods and final outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Delivery:
Manage architectural projects through the design, technical and construction stages while maintaining quality, programme and budget requirements.
Design Development:
Translate approved concepts into coordinated architectural designs, detailed drawings and construction information.
Consultant Coordination:
Work closely with structural engineers, building services consultants, planning specialists and other project partners to resolve design and technical issues.
Client Communication:
Attend client meetings, present design proposals and provide clear updates on progress, risks and key decisions.
Technical Documentation:
Prepare and review planning submissions, building regulation information, specifications, schedules and tender documentation.
Construction Support:
Respond to site queries, review contractor information, attend progress meetings and help resolve issues during the construction phase.
Quality and Compliance:
Ensure that project information complies with UK building regulations, planning requirements, health and safety standards and internal quality procedures.
Team Support:
Guide architectural assistants and technicians, review their work and provide practical feedback throughout project delivery.
What We Are Looking For:
Experience:
At least 3 to 5 years of post qualification experience within an architectural practice, design consultancy or multidisciplinary environment.
Professional Qualification:
ARB registered Architect with a recognised Part 3 qualification or equivalent UK registration.
Technical Knowledge:
Strong understanding of UK building regulations, planning processes, construction methods and technical detailing.

You are organised, practical and design focused. You can manage competing priorities, identify potential issues early and make informed decisions that keep projects moving forward.
