About the Role
We're looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team and play a key role in protecting our commercial interests while driving successful project outcomes.
Reporting throughout the full project lifecycle from bid stage through to final account you'll provide commercial leadership, manage contractual risk, maximise profitability, and build strong relationships with customers, contractors and internal stakeholders.

What You'll Be Doing
As our Commercial Manager, you will:
- Lead the commercial delivery of projects from pre-contract through to completion.
- Attend customer meetings, project reviews and commercial negotiations.
- Develop and implement commercial strategies to maximise profitability and minimise risk.
- Manage contract negotiations, variations, claims and final accounts.
- Monitor project budgets, cash flow and payment applications.
- Identify, assess and manage commercial risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Review contracts to ensure compliance with commercial and legal requirements.
- Prepare and present commercial reports, forecasts and recommendations to senior management.
- Support Contract Managers and Finance teams with valuations, applications for payment and dispute resolution.
- Maintain accurate commercial records, risk registers and supporting documentation.
- Ensure contractual obligations are met while maintaining strong customer relationships.
- Escalate commercial issues where appropriate and recommend practical solutions.
- Promote best practice commercial governance across projects.
What We're Looking For
You'll be an experienced commercial professional with excellent contractual knowledge and strong stakeholder management skills.
You'll also have:
- Previous experience as a Commercial Manager, Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor.
- Strong knowledge of construction contracts, including JCT, DDM and NEC forms of contract.
- A proven ability to negotiate effectively and achieve commercially beneficial outcomes.
- Excellent commercial awareness and financial acumen.
- Experience managing project budgets, cash flow and profitability.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with sound commercial judgement.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Confidence presenting commercial information and influencing stakeholders at all levels.
- The ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
