Winluxe Group is an ambitious and growing UK manufacturer and supplier of premium windows and doors.
As the Group continues to grow, we are looking to appoint an experienced and commercially minded Technical Manager to provide technical leadership and support across our operations in Huntingdon and Biggleswade.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who combines strong technical knowledge with excellent problem-solving, communication and organisational skills. You will work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Sales, Estimating, Procurement and Aftercare to ensure our products are technically compliant, manufacturable and continually improving.
The Role
The Technical Manager will take ownership of technical matters across Winluxe Group, providing support from initial product and project design through to manufacture, installation and aftercare.
You will be responsible for maintaining technical standards, supporting new product development, resolving complex technical issues and ensuring the Group’s products continue to meet applicable regulatory, quality and performance requirements.
The role will be based across both our Huntingdon and Biggleswade sites, and regular travel between the two locations will be required.
Key Responsibilities
· Provide technical leadership and support across Winluxe Group.
· Act as the escalation point for complex product, design, manufacturing and installation-related technical queries.
· Review drawings, specifications and project requirements to ensure products are suitable, compliant and manufacturable.
· Produce, review and approve technical drawings and supporting documentation.
· Work closely with Sales and Estimating teams on technically complex quotations and customer requirements.
· Support Manufacturing with technical queries, product specifications and production-related issues.
· Assist in the investigation and resolution of product quality and aftercare issues, identifying root causes and permanent corrective actions.
· Support the development, testing and introduction of new products and product improvements.
· Carry out product design work, technical calculations and simulations where appropriate.
· Work closely with suppliers and Procurement to assess components, materials and alternative product solutions.
· Maintain accurate technical specifications, drawings, manuals and product documentation.
· Ensure products remain compliant with relevant UK Building Regulations, industry standards and certification requirements.
· Support product testing, certification and ongoing compliance activities.
· Identify opportunities to improve product performance, manufacturing efficiency, quality and cost.
· Provide technical training and guidance to colleagues across the Group.
· Work collaboratively with Operations and senior management to support the Group’s continuous improvement programme.
About You
We are looking for someone who can combine technical expertise with a practical understanding of manufacturing and commercial business requirements.
Ideally, you will have:
· Previous experience in a Technical Manager, Technical Engineer, Design Engineer or similar technical role.
· Experience within the window, door, glazing, aluminium, fenestration or construction products industry would be highly advantageous.
· Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications and manufacturing processes.
· Experience using CAD or technical design software.
· Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
· A good understanding of product testing, certification and regulatory compliance.
· The ability to investigate technical problems and develop practical solutions.
· Excellent attention to detail.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills.
· The confidence to communicate technical information to customers, suppliers and colleagues at all levels.
· The ability to manage multiple technical priorities across two operational sites.
· A proactive approach to continuous improvement and product development.
· A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel regularly between Huntingdon and Biggleswade.
