Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Care Assistant to join our residential care home team. The successful candidate will provide high-quality support and assistance to residents, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being. Duties
- Assist residents with daily activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility, ensuring dignity and respect at all times
- Support residents in accordance with individual care plans, tailoring assistance to their specific needs
- Monitor residents' health and wellbeing, reporting any concerns to senior staff promptly
- Engage residents in social activities and companionship to promote mental and emotional wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records of care provided, following organisational policies and procedures
- Assist with meal preparation and supervision as required, ensuring dietary requirements are met
- Support residents with medication management under supervision where applicable
- Uphold health and safety standards within the care environment, including infection control protocols
- Communicate effectively with residents, colleagues, families, and external healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated care
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in a care home or home care setting is desirable but not essential; full training will be provided
- Knowledge of care plans and ability to follow prescribed routines accurately
- Excellent communication skills in English, both verbal and written
- Compassionate attitude with strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trusting relationships with residents
- Ability to work as part of a team in a busy environment whilst maintaining professionalism and patience
