Location: London, UK
Employment: Part-time to full-time, depending on experience
Experience level: Entry to mid-level
Primary focus: Production, with occasional on-camera anchoring
Are you based in London and looking for a role where you can learn how a modern global newsroom operates from every angle?
Roxom TV is looking for an Associate Producer / Relief Anchor to work closely with our London Studio Lead and help bring our daily show to life. Most of the time, you’ll work behind the scenes, supporting production, coordinating the newsroom, and helping the broadcast run smoothly. When one of our regular anchors is unavailable, you’ll be ready to step in front of the camera and present the news.
This is an ideal role for someone who loves media production, is interested in journalism, and wants to understand the full 360-degree operation of a live news desk, from editorial planning and guest coordination to the control room and anchor desk.
ABOUT ROXOM
Roxom is building a new kind of global news network focused on human connection and the real-world impact behind the headlines.
From our London studio, we work with a fully distributed international team and a growing network of citizen journalists reporting from places where stories are unfolding. We tell the news through the perspectives of real people on the ground, helping viewers better understand the world and feel connected to the wider human family.
THE ROLE
This is a hybrid position combining two responsibilities:
Associate Producer - Primary responsibility
You’ll be the second hand to our London Studio Lead, helping prepare and produce the show while connecting the editorial team, anchors, guests, citizen journalists, and production crew.
Relief Anchor - As needed
When a regular anchor is unavailable, you’ll step in to help present the show. You should be confident on camera, comfortable discussing international news, and able to explain complex stories in a clear, natural, and human way.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Work closely with the London Studio Lead as their right hand in preparing and producing the daily show
- Help coordinate rundowns, scripts, visuals, guests, and live contributions
- Support communication between the newsroom, studio, anchors, control room, and distributed team
- Brief and prepare citizen journalists and guests joining from around the world
- Monitor timing, transitions, cues, and last-minute production changes
- Assist with camera setup, lighting, sound checks, rehearsals, and other hands-on studio needs
- Help operate and troubleshoot production equipment and streaming software
- Stay informed about major international news and developing stories
- When the main anchor is unavailable, aggregate news, select relevant stories, write or adapt scripts, and prepare to present the show
- Step in as a relief presenter when a regular anchor is unavailable
- Respond calmly and resourcefully when plans change or breaking news develops
- Represent Roxom’s global, human-first editorial voice both behind the scenes and on air
OUR TEAM CULTURE
Roxom is a small, ambitious team, so this is an all-hands-on-deck role. We need someone flexible, proactive, and willing to help wherever support is needed.
On any given day, that might mean preparing a rundown, briefing a guest, troubleshooting a studio issue, organizing equipment, or stepping in front of the camera.
No task is too small or too big. The right person will bring the same energy and care to everyday details as they do to major editorial and on-air responsibilities. We value people who notice what needs to be done, take initiative, and help the team make the show happen.
WHO WE’RE LOOKING FOR
You may be a junior producer who wants to develop on-camera experience, an emerging journalist who wants to learn production, or someone early in their media career who is excited to do both.
The ideal candidate:
- Is based in or within commuting distance of London
- Has practical, hands-on experience in video production, broadcasting, digital video, podcasting, or live content
- Is comfortable working directly with cameras, lighting, microphones, sound equipment, and studio technology
- Has some experience researching news, aggregating stories, or writing scripts
- Has some on-camera experience and is comfortable presenting live
- Has a strong interest in international news and the human impact behind global events
- Speaks and writes fluent English
- Is organized, dependable, curious, and attentive to detail
- Communicates clearly and works well with different teams and personalities
- Can stay calm and make good decisions in a fast-moving live environment
- Is flexible and willing to move between editorial, technical, production, and on-camera responsibilities
- Takes initiative and is willing to help wherever needed, with no task considered too big or too small
- Wants to understand how an entire global newsroom operates, not just one part of it
Hands-on experience with video production, lighting, sound, podcasting, studio equipment, or live broadcasting is a strong plus. Familiarity with multicamera production, video editing, newsroom tools, or streaming software such as vMix or OBS is a major advantage.
Experience with scripts, rundowns, and guest coordination is also helpful, but we don’t expect one person to know everything from day one.
EMPLOYMENT DETAILS
This position may begin as either a part-time or full-time role, depending on the successful candidate’s experience and availability.
The role includes an initial trial period, giving both the candidate and Roxom the opportunity to ensure the position is the right fit.
