We are looking for engaging, kind and musical souls to join our small and wholesome team.
As a freelance music facilitator for Groovy Horizons, you will be delivering music sessions to groups and individuals with a variety of learning disabilities, both physical and mental. You will be required to help our groups engage in a musical session which is focused on fun, togetherness and exploration.
We are currently looking for facilitators to cover a number of our North London sessions.
The number of sessions per day and their locations are listed below:
- 5 sessions on a Monday in North London (Muswell Hill, H&I, Kings Cross, West Hampstead)
- 4 sessions on a Tuesday in North London (New Southgate, Finsbury Park, Kentish Town)
- 4 sessions on a Thursday in North London (New Southgate, Muswell Hill, Kentish Town)
- 3 sessions on a Friday in North London (fortnightly) (New Southgate, Muswell Hill, Camden)
Please only apply to this job if you are happy to work in the areas mentioned and to travel between sessions. (The cost of travel between sessions is covered by us).
Desired skillset:
- Being able to confidently command a space and lead a group.
- Being sensitive to individual needs and communications.
- Have experience working with folks with learning disabilities.
- Being able to play percussive instruments in time and with flair.
- To be able to be playful in a group context.
- To be able to raise the vibration in a group.
- Optimistic and committed attitude.
- Be able to confidently perform songs and to lead a sing a long.
The above skillset outlines what is ideal for working with us, however training will be provided to help you cultivate and grow as musician/facilitator.
