Due to continued growth, we are seeking an experienced Apprenticeship Assessor/Coach to join our team. This role is ideal for a time-served Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineer looking to use their industry expertise to support and inspire the next generation of engineers.
As an Assessor Coach, you will manage a caseload of apprentices, providing workplace coaching, mentoring and assessment to ensure apprentices develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required to successfully complete their apprenticeship and progress in their careers.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a caseload of Engineering and Manufacturing apprentices across a range of apprenticeship standards.
- Conduct workplace visits, progress reviews and tripartite meetings with apprentices and employers.
- Deliver high-quality coaching and mentoring that develops occupational competence and professional behaviours.
- Assess workplace performance, identify skills gaps and recommend appropriate training and development activities.
- Support apprentices in gathering and presenting evidence to meet apprenticeship standard requirements.
- Monitor learner progress, implement interventions where required, and ensure apprentices remain on track to achieve.
- Prepare apprentices for Gateway and End Point Assessment, ensuring all evidence and documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Build strong relationships with employers, workplace mentors and stakeholders to support successful apprenticeship outcomes.
- Provide guidance to employers on apprenticeship requirements, learner progress and compliance obligations.
- Contribute to quality assurance, standardisation activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Support apprenticeship recruitment, employer engagement and learner celebration events.
- Promote and uphold company policies relating to safeguarding, equality, diversity, inclusion, health and safety, and learner welfare.
About You
You will have:
- Significant industry experience within an Electrical, Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering environment.
- Completed a time served apprenticeship in either Engineering or Manufacturing.
- Hold up to a HNC in Engineering or Manufacturing
- Hold an Assessor qualification, D32/33, A1, CAVA, TAQA qualification.
- A passion for developing people and sharing your knowledge and expertise.
- Experience coaching, mentoring, supervising or assessing individuals in the workplace.
- Strong communication, organisational and relationship-building skills.
- The ability to motivate apprentices and support them to achieve their full potential.
This role would particularly suit an experienced engineer looking to transition from a hands-on role while remaining actively involved in developing future talent within the engineering sector.
Due to the nature of this role, applicants must hold a full, clean UK driving licence and be willing to travel regularly to employer premises and Waterside Training sites as required.
