Job Overview
The Goods In & Stores Supervisor supports key stakeholders in the daily operation of the stores and goods-in functions, ensuring materials are received, stored, and distributed efficiently to support production requirements. This role is responsible for supervising stores staff, maintaining stock accuracy, and ensuring high standards of organisation, safety, and operational performance.
As a key member of the Stores team, the role holder's key duties will include, but not be limited to:
- Supervise and motivate stores staff during assigned shifts.
- Oversee the receipt, inspection, and accurate booking-in of deliveries.
- Ensure materials, components, and consumables are stored safely and efficiently.
- Monitor stock levels and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies and delivery issues.
- Ensure timely and accurate issue of materials to production departments.
- Train, coach, and support new and existing employees.
- Maintain stores standards for cleanliness, housekeeping, and safety.
- Conduct regular stock counts and support inventory audits.
- Liaise with production, purchasing, and planning teams regarding stock requirements and shortages.
- Prepare basic reports and communicate updates to management.
- Enforce company policies, procedures, and health & safety requirements consistently.

Qualifications & Skills - REQUIRED:
- Previous upholstery experience, preferably in a supervisory role.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Customer-focused mindset with problem-solving ability.
- Basic math, Basic English, and computer skills.
- Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays.
- Ability to lift and move merchandise as needed.
Qualifications & Skills – PREFERRED:
- Experience with MRP/ERP systems.
- Proven ability to lead and motivate a team.
- Forklift Truck Licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach).
- Knowledge of upholstery materials, components, and manufacturing processes.
- Experience in stock auditing and inventory management.
Working Pattern
- Monday to Thursday 07:30am - 16:30pm (30-minute unpaid break)
- Friday 07:30am - 12:30pm (no unpaid break)

Pay: £28,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
