Overview
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated GCSE Maths Tutor to inspire and support students in mastering mathematics at the secondary education level. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students’ academic journeys by providing engaging, personalized instruction tailored to their individual needs. As a GCSE Maths Tutor, you will foster confidence, enhance understanding, and help students achieve their best results in mathematics exams.
Responsibilities
- Deliver clear, engaging, and effective tutoring sessions focused on GCSE-level mathematics concepts
- Assess students’ current understanding and tailor lessons to address their specific strengths and areas for improvement
- Develop customized lesson plans that align with curriculum standards and exam requirements
- Support students in developing problem-solving skills, mathematical reasoning, and exam techniques
- Track student progress regularly, providing constructive feedback to encourage continuous improvement
- Foster a positive learning environment that motivates students and builds their confidence in mathematics
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians about progress and areas needing attention
Experience
- Proven experience in tutoring or teaching mathematics at the GCSE level or equivalent
- Experience working with children or young learners in an educational setting
- Knowledge of special education needs (SEN) to adapt teaching methods accordingly (nice-to-have)
- Strong communication skills to clearly explain complex concepts and engage students of diverse backgrounds
- Demonstrated ability to motivate students and foster a supportive learning environment
