We are a family run business that has been building for the past 14 years. We are looking for someone to assist a team leader in the gardening and grounds maintenance sector.
We need this individual to be driven, have high levels of self-motivation and pay particular attention to details. They need to be looking to progress alongside the companies visions and take on further responsibilities where and when required. We must emphasise that we want the individual to grow with the company and there will be many opportunities to take on more advanced roles and responsibilities as they progress. They must have good levels of energy and fitness suited to garden maintenance practices in all weathers and take pride in their own fitness and health and be a non smoker. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Previous experience with gardening equipment and tools is not essential but they must be good at adapting to new skills, equipment and learning new tasks and responsibilities. They must be open to using their initiative and, in some situations, carrying out tasks without the support of other workers.
We travel between many home counties and this role will mainly be within Essex and the surrounding counties. The candidate must be flexible with travel to and from these locations and be ready to meet at the Team Leaders desired location whether that be close to their home or at a nearby pick up point.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Working under a team leader and assisting them to carry out all tasks on site - Learning new skills and practices from more experienced members of the team and demonstrating knowledge of this on a regular basis.
Duties to be managed and carried out
- Grass cutting and lawn maintenance - Strimming - Hedge cutting and pruning - Bed restoration/ preparation and planting - Weed control - Leaf clearing and litter picking.
