Internal Sales & Customer Service Advisor (Trade)
We supply the trade with the brands they ask for by name: Blum, Festool, Bora and more. We need the person those customers actually want to speak to. Confident on the phone, quick to learn the range, and happy to sort a problem out properly. Real conversations about real products, not scripts and call queues.
About Isaac Lord Isaac Lord is a long-established, independent trade distributor based in High Wycombe, supplying tools, hardware and fittings to the kitchen, bedroom, bathroom and living trades across the UK. We specialise in the higher, bespoke end of the market, which means our customers come to us for proper advice and the right product, not just a price. We run a trade counter, a busy sales office and a growing online side, and we're known for knowing our stuff and looking after the people who buy from us.
The role You're the first point of contact for our trade customers, whether they're calling, emailing or using live chat. A typical day is a mix of taking and processing orders, putting quotes together, answering questions about products and stock, and making sure the customer gets what they need without fuss. It's not all reactive, though. We'll also want you picking up the phone proactively: following up on quotes, staying in touch with accounts that have gone a bit quiet, and spotting the chance to do a bit more business rather than waiting for it to come to you. You'll work closely with other departments to keep orders flowing, and the role is busy and varied, where being organised and accurate matters every bit as much as being good with people.
What you'll be doing
- Handling inbound enquiries across phone, email and live chat, and turning them into orders
- Processing orders accurately, and keeping customers updated on stock and delivery
- Preparing quotes and following them up rather than letting them go cold
- Advising customers on products and helping them pick the right item for the job (full training on the range provided)
- Proactively contacting accounts: chasing quotes, reconnecting with quiet customers, and spotting chances to do more business
- Keeping things moving at pace, because our customers value a quick, helpful response and so do we
- Working closely with other departments to keep orders flowing and customers looked after
What we need from you
- Confident and comfortable on the phone, including making proactive outbound calls. This isn't a role for someone who'd rather hide behind email.
- A genuine eye for detail. Orders and quotes need to be right first time, and you're the sort who double-checks rather than hopes for the best.
- The appetite to learn a technical product range. You don't need to know our products yet, but you do need to want to get properly good at it.
- A bit of commercial instinct. You notice when there's a chance to help a customer with more, and you do something about it.
- Well organised, able to juggle calls, emails and live chat without letting things slip.
- A good standard of written English, since a fair bit of your day is email and chat.
Nice to have None of these are essential, and we'll train the right person, but they'd give you a head start:
- Experience in trade, distribution or the KBBL sector
- Familiarity with brands like Blum, Festool or Häfele, or similar products
- Previous internal sales or sales support experience
- Comfort using a CRM or order-processing system
What's in it for you
- Salary from 28,500 depending on experience
- Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm
- Office-based at our High Wycombe offices
- 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
- Company pension
- Free on-site parking
- Health Shield health cash plan
You'd be joining an established, independent business where you're a named person customers ask for, not an extension number. We'll train you properly on a premium product range, the kind of brands the trade asks for by name, so you build genuine expertise rather than just learning a script. The role comes with real variety and the freedom to use your initiative, and as our business grows there's room to grow with it.
